Changes In Life Acton
Life in Acton has seen an immense flux over several decades. The multicultural neighbourhood, once an overlooked southern area of Ealing in west London, has rapidly developed into a sought-after suburb. From its industrial past to its current residency attraction, Acton’s transformation speaks volumes.
In the preceding years, Acton was predominantly industrial. Known for its motor car production in the early 20th century, followed by laundry services earning it the moniker of ‘Soapsud Island.’ The area was home to an array of factories including Lucas Aerospace and Wilkinson Sword. The vast influx of immigrants, mainly from Poland and Australia, helped grow this community, creating a diverse cultural cityscape. However, a significant change arrived with the demise of industry, marking a shift from the industrial epoch to the rise of residential boltholes.
The recent years have seen Acton going through another distinctive evolution. A remarkable shift from its industrial roots, favouring the rise of residential complexes, local businesses, and amenities. The centrepiece of this transformation arrived with the opening of Acton’s Crossrail station, making the area more connected and attractive to potential residents. The town has also witnessed an explosion of food scenes, cafes, and markets that cater to its multicultural populace. The redevelopments and price growth in the area have turned heads and Acton is now considered to be one of London’s attractive and desired residential areas. Although the area has seen significant changes over the years, the strong community spirit and diverse culture have remained, making it the interesting confluence of past and present that we can witness today.

About me
Let’s get the formalities over and done with. I am a Certified Life Coach, NLP Practitioner and NLP Master Practitioner, a professional member of ANLP, and a member of ICF.
I have a lot of life experiences under my belt. I have hitchhiked around Texas as a youngster, visited many countries, and mentored others in the field of education. I also ran my own business providing early years childcare for over 20 years, one of my greatest professional achievements to date.
But hitting my 50s a few years ago, was a pivotal moment. I felt I had lost my sense of identity and to some extent my health.
I knew I needed and wanted to change, to re-evaluate my life and to overcome my personal battle with my weight.
In the end, that personal journey of overcoming my own challenges led me to a total career change and to re-training as a coach because I knew I could and wanted to help others. I am not going to say my own journey was not daunting at times, but I hope my personal transformation will help inspire others.
Oh, and I love fresh flowers, Latin music, football and reading – which is my greatest joy.
What are my values?
